彼思憶記 PART.2

Agnes Wong -《

Christy Wai -《

Victor Chong -《

Elok Wong -《

As we grow older, we will start to remember back the good old days. Watching a Pixar movie can make us recollect the childhood memories. Pixar’s animations always hold special places in our hearts, despite there is an abundance of other animations that are available for us to watch. In this issue of Chessman Post, we will continue sharing our favorite picks with you!

Agnes Wong – “Monster University”

I was a university student when I first watched this movie. The story of “Monsters, Inc.” has been so deeply entrenched in our hearts that I did not expect Pixar would produce a prequel film, which takes us back to the university life of James P. Sullivan and Mike Wazowski. With some school elements, this animation vividly portrays the hardships and friendships between the characters, and that resonate powerfully with me. Although it is an animation, the plot is quite unpredictable—for instance, Sulley and Mike were enemies in the beginning, and they both were being kicked out of school. Through this story, I have learnt a life lesson: Failure is not the end. There are more ways to achieve our goals than obstacles.

Christy Wai – “The Incredibles”

Almost every child has envisaged about one thing—having super powers that empower us to do everything we want. I know it is a whimsical thought, but I once fantasized that I could be a transparent girl. This animation has provided us with rooms for imaginations, and it has made my childhood dream comes true. In addition, I really enjoy watching this animation for its brilliant drawings and tight plot.

To be honest, I would fall asleep every time I watch an animation, but“The Incredibles” always keeps me awake.

Victor Chong – “Cars”

We all have to live bravely, and there is why I am never bored watching an inspirational and cheering movie. The attitude of Lightning McQueen in “Cars” is a great example to follow. He had encountered some tough times but he still made it through and become the champion. The story may be a platitude of sorts, but it fits into everyone’s situation.

Elok Wong – “Finding Nemo”

I have heard that man has only explored less than 5% of the ocean. We will not be able to unveil all the mysteries of the ocean even if we spend our lifetime trying to do so. What is happening in the mysterious ocean? “Finding Nemo” has obviously satisfied my curiosity. The living things under the sea actually live with their parents and friends, just as we do. This animation not only teaches us about parent-child relationships, but how we should deal with disabilities and overcome adversities. I want to end with a quote from Dory: “When life gets you down, do you wanna know what you've gotta do? Just keep swimming!”
